Admissions to a doctoral program
Posted by daniel2ro6 on 09/28/15 3:05pm
hello everyone,
I read the report of a dba survey in this site and learned that some programs do allow enrolment without prior work experience. Anyone know such programs ??Posted by Thomas Graf on 09/28/15 3:32pm
Hi there,
I can hardly imagine that you find such a program. And if you do, I would its quality and value. The reason is simple: A DBA is a professoinal doctorate in management. It targets professionals and even senior professionals who want to do research on a topic within their firms, from a practical perspective. Someone without work experience is not able to do it.
As yourself: Why do you want to pursue such a program? If it is just fro the title (and not for the research), then I would recommend you not to do it anyway. Researhc is hard work and it takes a long time to achieve the doctoral degree.
If you are interested in research and want to do it without work experience, then a PhD is the right degree for you. Please have a look at our article PhD vs DBA to understand the differences.
Best wishes,
