DBA Program Admission

Admissions to a doctoral program
  • Posted by Ken Wu on 01/14/20 1:14am

I'm interested in applying for IE Business School DBA program (I'm also considering City University of HK, Toulouse Business School and Tilburg University). I'm 43 years old; I completed my MBA in 2003 and MS Business Analytics in 2015 (my GPA was around 3.2-3.4) from a local school in Southern California (Cal State University of Fullerton). I have over 20 years of professional experience, 15 years of management experience and 9 years in C-suite. Do I fit the mold that IE is looking for? Does scoring high on GRE or GMAT make a difference?

    Hello,

in general, I assume that your CV fits well to the IE DBA. A high GMAT score wouldn't hurt though I am not sure if IE requires it.

SInce I did my PhD at IE and even taught DBA students there, I can connect you with the program manager Laura Maguire if you wish so. She is very nice and accessible and surely can answer your questions.

    Best regards,

      Thomas,

Thank you for your reply; yes, I would love to connect with the program manager. The deadline for the Fall 2020 is tomorrow, so I think I will need to wait until next year.

Just curious, how many hours do we need to commit per week while in the program? Is DBA program more of an individual work? I remember my MBA workload was heavy in team projects.

      Ken
