On May 9, 2013, the Macau Daily Times published an article about former DBA student Andrew Ko, who withdrew from the University of Macau Doctor of Business Administration. According to the Macau Daily Times, Ko accused the University of Macau of never having "received formal feedback on his research proposal". Furthermore, the university never seems to have managed to arrange a suitable supervisor. Ko also seems to have questioned the overall quality of the faculty.

Even though this case is not cleared finally and Ko's experience may be the unique experience of a single student only, it provides a reminder to all future DBA students to choose a program carefully.
