The Executive Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Miami Herbert empowers senior leaders to advance their expertise by applying business research to solve complex challenges and drive innovation in their industries. This program combines rigorous academics with practical application, equipping participants to implement evidence-based strategies, enhance decision-making, and lead transformative change.

Through a curriculum emphasizing critical thinking, applied research, and mentorship from renowned faculty, participants develop innovative solutions to real-world problems and improve their ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences. Designed as a flexible, part-time, three-year program, the Executive DBA strengthens leadership skills and strategic thinking, preparing graduates to make meaningful contributions within their organizations and industries.

Rolling Admissions: The Executive DBA program reviews applications year-round, and qualified applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Merit-Based Scholarship Priority: Applicants who apply early receive priority for merit-based scholarship consideration. Funding is limited and awarded until available funds are exhausted.

Apply Early: Submitting your application early increases your chances of securing scholarship support and ensures a timely admissions review.

Application Procedure

You will be asked to provide the following documents:

Unofficial transcripts* of your latest degree: A master’s degree is preferred but not required. *Official academic transcripts from all academic institutions attended will be required if offered admission into the program.

Your résumé.

A letter of recommendation.

A personal essay. Your essay should be approximately 750–1,000 words, clearly written, and reflective of your genuine thoughts and intentions. This essay is a critical component of your application and provides us with valuable insight into your aspirations and readiness for the program. Please address the following topics in your essay:​

Motivations and goals: Share your reasons for pursuing the EDBA degree and outline your professional and personal goals. How does this program align with your aspirations?

Research Interests: Describe the areas of research that interest you. Are there specific challenges or opportunities in your field or industry that you wish to explore through your DBA research?

Time Management: The EDBA program requires a significant time commitment of approximately 15-20 hours per week. Explain how you plan to manage this commitment alongside your professional and personal responsibilities.
